1. What are the Hope Foundation projects in Bangladesh?
Hope Foundation established Cox's Bazar Hospital for Women and Children, a 40-bed charitable hospital in Ramu, Cox's Bazar. And currently have 8 satellite clinics HOPE MEDICAL CENTERS were set up in remote areas through sponsorship from resourceful Bangladeshis living at home and abroad. More health care centers are expected to open in different rural areas of Bangladesh through collaboration and individual sponsors at their native villages in Bangladesh.

3. How large is the hospital and what are the goals for expanding?
Currently the hospital is a 40-bed institution open since April 2005. This is a continuation of the care provided by the outpatient clinic which provided health care services to the local community for 5 years from January 2000 to June 2005. Over 60,000 people received medical treatment during that time. The hospital provides basic very low cost medical care including medication, evaluation and treatment, preventative health education and minor surgeries. No-one is turned away for inability to pay. The goal is to expand the 40-bed hospital and build a 200-bed facility. When completed, this facility will handle intensive care, inpatient and outpatient needs and will have a lab and radiology on site. Preventative health education programs, family planning education and rural health programs are also undertaken.
4. Is there any involvement in this project by any government or religious organizations?
Cox's Bazar Hospital for Women and Children is registered with the Government of Bangladesh operates under the Bangladesh Welfare Law. This hospital is a non-profit, nonpolitical and non-religious organization. All women and children of the community will receive care regardless of their religious or ethnic background. The Hospital is established mainly to serve the indigent population but it will serve any individual irrespective of financial status if needed.
5. What are HOPE MEDICAL CENTERS?
Hope Medical Centers are established at the village of the sponsor. Local management will be selected by the sponsor. Hope Foundation will give guidance to set up, smooth running and future expansion based on needs. Hope Foundation will solicit funds from philanthropic organizations and get medical supplies and equipments from its partners and will distribute among all centers. Hope Medical Centers provide primary healthcare at 80% reduced cost compared to local rate, and provide services for free to those who are unable to pay.
6. How one can sponsor a HOPE MEDICAL CENTER?
Sponsor will need an initial investment of 5000 USD to build a small structure, and need to select committed individuals in the area who will take care of the project locally in collaboration with Hope Foundation. Sponsor also needs to make a financial commitment to support the clinic at least 2 years. Average cost to run clinic 3 day a week would cost approx.300- 400 USD/month. Long term goal of Hope Foundation is to make the clinic self sustaining through grants, donations and clinic income.
7. Are the donations tax deductible?
Yes. Hope Foundation for Women & Children of Bangladesh is incorporated under Florida Law and is a tax exempt 501 (C) 3 charity registered with the IRS.
